Mission & Vision

Our Mission

To advance the quality of children's eye care in Pakistan through education, advocacy, research, and collaboration among pediatric ophthalmologists and allied health professionals. Through ongoing training initiatives, advocacy efforts, and community outreach, APOP continues to work towards the prevention of childhood blindness and the provision of equitable, high-quality eye care for all children in Pakistan.

Our Vision

The Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology Pakistan (APOP) was established in 2010 with the vision of advancing the care of children with eye diseases and disorders of vision across the country. A Pakistan where every child has access to quality eye care, and preventable blindness is eliminated through early detection and treatment.

History of APOP

What began as a small group of dedicated pediatric ophthalmologists has evolved into a nationally recognized professional body representing specialists committed to excellence in pediatric eye care. Since its inception, APOP has played a pivotal role in promoting education, research, and collaboration in the field of pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. The Association has successfully organized national conferences and scientific meetings in major cities across Pakistan, providing a vital platform for knowledge exchange and professional development.
